~Cloud~

The Cloud That Becomes A Storm

Cloud padded towards the edge of Silver Fall's border. She had recently scented more than just prey on the other side the border. It was obvious that a cat had moved into the vicinity of Moonlight Grove. Cloud had always felt that it was somehow her duty to welcome the new inhabitants of the Forest. She stretched her front paws, wiggling the toes on her paws and yawning, revealing razor sharp teeth. She settled back down, and opening her mouth, she let out a clear questioning yowl that echoed throughout Moonlight Grove. She was eager to meet the new inhabitant of the Forest, and to hopefully come to good terms with them. Maybe even form an alliance... She wrapped her long tail neatly around her paws as she patiently awaited a reply, or at least for the inhabitant of Moonlight Grove to show herself.

From the river, Dusk's ears twitched. Some one had called out. With a yawn, she stretched and walked out toward the hunting grounds. Her ears swiveled as she listened to the sounds around her. The forest seemed to be alive today.
Upon entering the hunting grounds, she picked up the light scent of another cat. 'Hello?' she mewed.

Cloud felt a surge of excitement pulse through her body. So, there was a cat on the Moonlight Grove. Raising her head slightly, she took another step towards the border. "Hello" she mewed in reply, "I am Cloud of Silver Falls, who are you?" Her eyes shone as she looked despratley into the surronding undergrowth, trying to make out the new inhabitant of the forest. From the sound of the cat's voice, it was a young female and Cloud was eager to meet her. She sat down and lifted a paw, licking her paw and before grooming her ear, she wanted to at least feel presentable to the young cat. Hearing her voice suddenly seemed to remind Cloud of how old she really was!

Dusk sat in the brush and purred slightly. It was nice to meet some one new. 'I am Dusk, of Moonlight Grove. A pleasure it is to meet you, Cloud', she purred, stepping out from the shadows. From what sh ecould tell at a first glance and hearing the other cat, it was a female, and possibly a queen. Some one to be respected.

Cloud inclined her head. "I am glad of your presence here," she mewed "Moonlight Grove was starting to feel a little empty!" she flicked her tail slightly, brushing aside some fallen leaves that had somehow burrowed their way under Cloud's paws. "How does the prey run?" she asked polietly. Wrapping her tail neatly around her paws, her ears twitching as almost like a radar as she scanned the surronding area. She dected a faint sound of something crashing towards them. That 'something' was running on clumsy paws and she knew immediatley who it was. A faint smile touched her lips as she thought about her young son, Whisper. "Allow me to introduce my ever so graceful son, Whisper." she purred as the crashing sound grew louder as the young tom neared the two cats meeting place.

Dusk smiled inwardly. It was quiet in Moonlight Grove, and she enjoyed it. 'Thank you. I am glad to know there are other cats around.' she mewed, taking in the next question. 'The prey is good, I prefer night hunting.' Looking around, Dusk listened to the on coming one kitten stampead that was Cloud's son. Dusk smiled. 'A pleasure to meet you, Whisper,' she mewed amusedly.
