Whisper was in a foul mood as he padded moodily after Cloud. He had protested when his mother had insisted on resting the tip of her tail on his head to make sure he 'didn't get lost.' More like she wants to make sure I don't wander off he thought angrily. His mother calmly took his protesting and had suggested that she carry him by the scruff of the neck. The protesting stopped almost immediately. They were nearing the border of Cloud's territory, and coming to the edge of Moon's territory. Cloud settled down at the edge of the border, her long tail wrapped neatly around her paws. "Why have we stopped?" he demanded. "We have that Allegiance or whatever with Moon, so why can't we just go on her territory?" "Because its' rude and impolite!" snapped Cloud, chiding her son. "I don't think you fully respect the Allegiance between Cloud and I. We're good friends, but I can't just wander unto her territory whenever I feel like it. The soon you learn this, the better." Whisper felt a little irritated by Cloud's sudden smugness. "Okay! Okay! I get the general idea." He turned away, sulking. Cloud turned her attention to the border, taking a deep breath, she let out a clear questioning yowl, that echoed throughout the forest.
Moon tensed and lifted her head while tilting it to the side as she listened carefully, a few moments passed before she was sure she had heard correctly. She pulled herself gracefully to her paws and briefly looked over to where her two kits were play fighting on the grass. "Wait here!" She commanded regally giving the two kits a harsh glare before stalking towards the yowling. She limped through the undergrowth until she spotted a cat and a kit sitting just outside her border on Cloud's territory. She hissed inwardly in annoyance before prowling forwards until she came to a pause just in front of the long-tailed she-cat. "Cloud, what a pleasant surprise." Moon mewled studying the two cats carefully, fully aware of her daughter's presence a few fox-tails behind her.
Cloud frowned slightly. It was obvious by the way Moon spoke that she wasn't happy with Cloud's presence and she hadn't missed that hiss either. With a sigh, she rose to her paws, taking a step closer towards the boundary that seperated her territory from Moon's. "Its good to see you to," she mewed drily, her eyes locking with Moon's. "I came here because we haven't spoken for some time and Whisper here could do with the company." she glanced down at her son who was still sulking. "Besides, we'refriendsand we do have anAllegiance." She emphasized the words 'friends' and 'Allegiance' as if to remind Moon what they had. "So," she mewed, her eyes shining,"Can I come over?" She glanced down at the still sulking Whisper. "Oh do lighten up Whisper!" she sighed, "you'll never get anywhere if you stay here, feeling sorry for yourself." She flicked her tail slightly, the grass rustling as she shuffled her paws so she was in a more comtorable position.
Sky squealed before pushing herself through the undergrowth and bounding toward the other cats, carefully avoiding crossing the border. "Cloud, Whisper, I haven't seen you in ages, thank the forest your here Whisper, I would have gone insane if I had to spend another second in Silver's presence. He's such a mouse-brain and so dull, he won't even come exploring with me, how bad is that! Can they visit us, puh-lease." Sky whined giving her mother a pleading look, watching as the graceful cat relaxed her position slightly but was still obviously not keen on the idea. "I found this really cool place! Want to go explore it with me? It will be fun, I promise, Silver's too much of a wimp to go with me, he has the bravery of a mouse." Sky mewled indignantly studying the other kit before prowling wordlessly away from the boreder.
Whisper's tail twitched with excitement and before Cloud could stop him, he raced over the border and joined Sky. "I'm soo glad to see you again!" he mewed breathlessly. "Its too boring being the only kit, I wished you were my sister!" he sighed wistfully, ignoring Cloud's desperate calls to get him to come back. "Cloud can be really annoying! She treats me like a moon old kit!" He let out a breath he didn't even realise he had been holding. He was so happy to be with Sky again. Hopefully he could meet Silver as well, it would be good to meet him again, even if he was a bit of a wimp. He fluffed out his thick pelt against a sudden blast of cold wind. Brgghh!!! he said, "It is chilly! How far away are we from this secret cool place?"I speak too much when I'm excited he thought.
Sky turned around and gave the other kit a purr. "Oh not far now, if I'm right it should be just around the corner." She bounded towards a tree and peeked behind it before hissing in annoyance. "I meant that corner!" She yowled running of into aa different direction. "Or that one, no wait maybe it was that one, oh I think we went the wrong way at the begining, Yes we were supposed to take the second turn or was it the fifth and was it left or right?" Sky mewled in confusion, she had long ago found that talking out loud made her thoughts easier to understand. "But then I'm sure it was past that pointy leaf but then again it was extremely windy last night..." She trailed off before realising it was probably not a good idea to put her trust in a light leaf that could easily have been blown away. "Heh, just follow me Whisper, it's right this way." She mewed.
Whisper raised an eyebrow, at Sky's confusion. He was desperatley trying to keep up with Sky who was darting this way and that. Whisper secretly wondered if she even knew where she was. He sighed, he would just have to trust her. He bounded away, following her to only God knows where. He briefly wondered how Cloud would punish him for wondering off without permission. Again. He decided it would be best to stay with Sky as long as possible so he could enjoy what little freedom he had left before it was taken away for possibly a moon or more. A thought suddenly occured to him and he turned to Sky with a sly look crossing his face. "You know how its really annoying that we don't see eachother very often... Well how about we meet up at the border each night at midnight so we can explore?" The idea excited him greatly and he turned to Sky with pleading look in his eyes. "Come on! It'll be so much fun! We could explore everywhere and play games and climb trees and play in the Silver Falls..." His eyes shone and his tail tingled with excitement.
Sky stalked forwards, her footsteps light and quiet as she moved swiftly through the forest. Her mouth was open slightly as she allowed the scents of the forest to overwhelm her; a small almost unmistakeable hiss escaped her mouth as she caught sight of something she definitely recognised. She stopped suddenly before tilting her head up and letting out a loud squeaky yowl. She would not admit that she was tiring, she was after all only a kit but she would not let that deter her. She paused so suddenly that she almost tripped over her own paws, had she misheard the other kit or was he really serious about meeting up at the border. Her amber eyes lit up as she thought about Silver Falls, she had yet to have the chance to explore such an exciting, thrilling yet secretly dangerous place and such a thought as it sent a jolt of desire through her veins. “Whisper that is such a…marvellous idea.” She mewled proudly before darting off into the bracken, she could sense it on the wind; her destination was near, she let out a yowl of triumph as her muscles started to ache, she was so close she could almost feel it in her very soul.
Whisper felt proud that Sky thought his idea was 'marvellous'. "So..." he mewed, "Does that mean we can meet up?" It was more of a statement then a question. He almost collided with Sky when she suddenly skidded to a halt, hearing her let out a truiumphant yowl. "Are we there yet?" he mewed excitedly, almost squeaking. His tail tingled with excitement and he grinned broadly at Sky. It was going to be so much fun if they did meet up and he couldn't wait to explore the 'cool place' and he could also show Sky Silver Falls. It would be totally awesome!
Silver hissed as his fur got caught in the brambles and he quickly pushed himself forward using his back legs. As he caught sight of the shadows within the forest his fur prickled and his heart raced. He shivered as he searched diligently for his sister, he would prove he was no coward but with every paw-step he was beginning to regret his decision more and more. He almost jumped out of his fur as he heard a yowling of triumph in the distance before collapsing against a tree in relief. He pulled himself to his paws and darted forward eagerly, with his sister he would be safe from the dangers within the forest. He squealed as he ran with his tail held high and his paw-steps light. He almost tripped over a branch and on his way to avoid it he crashed right into Whisper. "Hello?!" He mewled in relief with his amber eyes slightly wide.
"Silver!" Whisper exclaimed, "Whar are you doing here?"he was slightly startled by the sudden appearance of Silver. He hoped Sky's brother hadn't heard their conversation. Regaining his composure, he shook his heard and turned expectantly to Sky, raising an eye. He sighed, why did Silver have to come and ruin their fun? Still, at least he was company. He pricked his ears, searching for any signs of Cloud or Moon being nearby but he didn't hear them. Good he thought we've lost them!
